Enochville’s low-key country living 30 miles outside Charlotte
Surrounded by farmland and intersected by quiet roads, Enochville offers a low-key community 30 miles from Charlotte and even closer to Mooresville and Salisbury. Enochville locals commute around the region, but can also spend weekends at the baseball field or breweries of Kannapolis, just down the road. “It’s a small-town feel, with a country surrounding,” says Kristen Huneycutt, broker and Realtor at Lantern Realty and Development. “It’s a great location as far as convenience to several big cities, and Kannapolis is your hot spot.”

Dollar General and 7-Eleven sell conveniences in town, and Piedmont Baptist Church and Enochville Church of God are among the religious institutions in the community. Locals have more shopping and dining options down the road in Kannapolis. “Kannapolis is a little happening place right now,” Huneycutt says. Atrium Health Ballpark hosts the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers Minor League Baseball team. Fans can grab a drink at Old Armor Beer Company or dinner at Chophouse 101, next to the ballpark, before games. Kannapolis also has grocers like Food Lion and Aldi.

Families can play a round of pickleball or baseball at Baker’s Creek Park in nearby Kannapolis. The park also has a playground and picnic shelters. Village Park also has a vintage carousel with hand-painted murals and lights, as well as an operating kiddie train that weaves through the landscape. Next to Village Park, the Kannapolis Branch YMCA has an indoor swimming pool, racquetball courts, a running track and a fitness center.
