100-year-old homes overlooking Humboldt Bay
When fog rolls in from the Humboldt Bay, it coats the shoreline and Eureka’s streets until about 10 or 11 a.m., when the California sunshine takes over. Fairfield, a hilly residential neighborhood near the water, has 100-year-old houses that experience this transition every foggy morning. “It’s a quiet, low-key area,” says Larry Doss, Broker and Owner of Ming Tree Realty. “There’s not a lot going on.” Once the fog lifts though, this neighborhood has places to explore, restaurants to try and events to have fun.
