Business 41 is an Evansville neighborhood with a mix of homes, warehouses and businesses along U.S. Route 41. “One of the main selling points of that area is that it is close to everything,” says Aeson Mehrzad, a Realtor with Euphoric Development Partners. The highway intersects with some of Evansville’s main roads. Within minutes, residents can be walking the trails at Garvin Park or eating dinner at a restaurant in Downtown Evansville, about 3 miles away. U.S. Route 41 is also the road people take to one of several nearby major cities. Louisville, Kentucky, is about 115 miles away, while Indianapolis is about a 170-mile drive.
Garvin Park is a great place to bring the kids to enjoy the playground or nearby pond.

While the highway can certainly be heard from some homes, just as many have a quiet environment. “In some homes, you can’t hear much of anything because you have so many trees,” Meherzad says. Most of the neighborhood is comprised of single-story houses built between the 1920s and 1960s, including ranch-styles, bungalows and minimal traditional cottages. There are also some manufactured homes. Prices generally fall between $120,000 and $140,000, although investment properties can cost as little as $40,000. According to FEMA, there is a relatively high risk of tornadoes.

People dine at nearby restaurants or go to Downtown Evansville
Local eateries include the Merry Go Round Restaurant, a carousel-themed establishment with American fare. Cafe Fiesta has a Tex-Mex menu that includes the two-foot-long Monster Burrito. At Diamond Lanes, people can get a drink and some bar food while bowling or playing games at the arcade. Ruler Foods is one of the closest grocery stores. Walmart, Lowe’s and Target are within a 6-mile drive.
Downtown Evansville has plenty of dining and entertainment options. “Zuki — that’s my favorite restaurant downtown,” says Mehrzad, talking about the Japanese restaurant that has been voted the Best Sushi in Evansville by Courier & Press Readers’ Choice since 2011. Also downtown is the Ford Center, an arena that hosts concerts, hockey matches and basketball games. It is across the street from the Children’s Museum of Evansville, where interactive galleries include the Artmaker studio, where kids learn through projects like painting and origami, and the Drip Drop Spot, where toddlers can practice climbing stairs and working on their balance.

Evansville schools serve the area, with a local university nearby
As part of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, students can complete kindergarten through sixth grade at Evans School. Niche gives the school a C rating. North Junior High School receives a B-plus and offers seventh and eighth grades. At North High School, which earns an A-minus, dual credit courses are available through the University of Southern Indiana and Ivy Tech Community College. Garvin Park is one of several options for outdoor recreation
Business 41 is near several parks. Garvin Park is home to the Bosse Field baseball stadium, the third-oldest ballpark in the country that still regularly has baseball games. The park also has a playground, softball fields and walking trails around Garvin Lake, which allows fishing. It is part of the Music in the Park concert series, where residents can bring lawn chairs and blankets to listen to a free show. At the Deaconess Aquatic Center, patrons can use two indoor pools and an outdoor splash park. Golfers can play an 18-hole game at the public Fendrich Golf Course, less than 1 mile away.
Diamond-Stringtown residents can swim laps or enjoy a class at the Deaconess Aquatic Center.
