They also sometimes offer views of Barton Run, a creek that runs the length of the neighborhood. “The neighborhood has a woodsy feel because it’s bordered by forest on two sides,” says Ian Rossman, a Realtor with Berkshire Hathway HomeServices Fox and Roach-Mt. Laurel. Rossman lives in the area and has sold homes in Evesham for 13 years. “It’s also a quiet community with walking paths — very serene and park-like.” Single-family colonial-style houses are also available in Barton Run. Bike paths line Barton Run Boulevard, the main road through the neighborhood. Bike paths and some bike lanes also line many of the main roads in Marlton, giving cyclists options if they want to bike somewhere for dinner or take the afternoon to complete a larger loop. Route 70 is 3 miles north of Barton Run and is the most direct route into Philadelphia, a 20-mile trip. Route 73, also within a few miles, runs into north Philadelphia and connects with Interstate 95. The closest medical center is Virtua Marlton Hospital next to the Promenade at Sagemore shopping mall. The hospital provides around-the-clock emergency services and specializes in cardiovascular diagnoses and treatments, surgical spine care, joint replacement surgery and stroke care.

Abundant recreational facilities along Tuckerton Road
On the north end of the neighborhood, Barton Run Park features a baseball field and playground. Traveling north on Tuckerton Road, residents have access to the Evesham Township Recreational Facility (also known as the “Blue Barn Rec Center” because of its blue roof). The center has an indoor gym that can be subdivided for different sports and activities. A little further west, the Indian Spring Country Club offers an 18-hole public golf course with programs for every member of the family.

While Barton Run is surrounded by woodland, Route 73, one of Marlton’s main commercial districts is within 4 miles and includes several shopping centers, including the Promenade at Sagemore, the area’s high-end mall. Here, shoppers will find an REI, an Apple Store and an L.L. Bean. Redstone American Grill, one of the area top restaurants, features a rugged, yet romantic atmosphere where couples can share an intimate dinner. Also on 73, familiar retailers like Target, Sprouts Farmers Market, HomeGoods and Trader Joe’s line the corridor. On the way home, shoppers may want to stop at Cups and Cones All Star Bagel on Tuckerton Road for its selection of 32 homemade ice cream flavors or fresh bagels. The eatery also sells coffee and sandwiches. Indian Acres Tree Farm, also nearby, features family-friendly activities throughout the year, such as wagon rides, a giant maze, pumpkin picking and a winter wonderland walking trail.
