The neighborhood's main access road, the Rancho Solano Parkway, winds around the golf course and hills blooming with oak trees. Rancho Solano has about 1,200 homes across six gated residential communities. Most properties have monthly HOA fees under $100. This area features New Traditional and Mediterranean homes with stucco siding and tile roofs. Prices range from $700,000 to $1.2 million. Townhouses cost between $550,000 and $800,000. "It's a great midpoint between cities, and the prices are almost half of some areas," Klink says. "Each village has its own gate. The first homes sold in the 80s, and the last of the tract homes finished in 2011."The neighborhood's CAP Index crime score is 1 out of 10, which is lower than the national average of 4. Rancho Solano is also prone to wildfires, and residents may need an evacuation plan. Compared to many parts of California, the area also has worse air quality than 80% of places in California.
Award-winning golf course, green spaces and a health club for residents
The Rancho Solano Golf Course has won multiple awards for having well-maintained greens, some of the largest in Northern California. The community also provides the In-Shape Fitness features extensive fitness equipment, tennis courts and a swimming pool. While there are play structures in some of the local communities, Meadow Glen Park is a green space with a shady playground. The Dunnell Nature Park and Education Center has interactive gardens, conservation information and habitats for bird species like turkeys, hawks and peacocks.Schools rated B-plus and higher with various programs
Suisun Valley Elementary School serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade. It earns a B-plus grade from Niche and features an agriscience program with a 2-acre farm that students use to learn about sustainable practices and farm-to-table. Fairfield and Suisun Transit (FAST) is the city's bus system, although Rancho Solano does not have direct access to bus stops. Interstate 80 is the local expressway. San Francisco is about 50 miles southwest of this area, while Sacramento is roughly 45 miles northeast on I-80. The largest employer in Solano County is Travis Air Force Base, a military base around 10 miles east. About 4 miles south, the Solano Town Center offers over 130 retailers and a movie theater. Also nearby, the Gateway Courtyard provides restaurants, such as Favela's Fusion, which serves Mexican dishes and margaritas in a gothic-style space with dramatic chandeliers. In Downtown Fairfield, Three Restaurant is a counter-serve Italian eatery with live music serving Italian food. The area also has supermarkets like Trader Joe's and Safeway. Residents can also head to Napa, an internationally recognized wine and culinary center about 20 miles west. "Many people here like to go to Napa because it has the best restaurants in the world," Klink says. The area also has events like the Rancho Solano Spring Fling, with more than 75 artists and vendors at the Rancho Solano Golf Course in April.
