Parks include the East County Community Center and Fairfield Park

Residents take buses and the Metro into Washington

With the neighborhood’s close proximity to Washington, public transportation is a must. A generous number of bus stops pepper the neighborhood, providing access around town and to the Silver Spring Metro stop, which goes directly into the city. For those driving, Fairland sits as the cross section of Maryland route 200, known as the Intercounty Connecter, and Columbia Pike, state route 29, which also leads into DC.
