About Farr West, UT

Recent growth in rural Farr West

Old fields recently converted into subdivisions signal growth in Farr West. “There’s lots of farmers in Farr West, and historically, that’s really all there’s ever been,” says Realtor Cory Berdinner of Utah Dream Properties. “It’s a little more populated now, but this is one of those quiet, rural cities that doesn’t change much.”

Homes tend to start in the high $400,000s and generally cap at around $850,000, with new builds available at the lowest and highest ends of the spectrum. Attending Wahlquist Junior High

The community is zoned for Weber School District, which earns a B on Niche. Farr West Elementary and Wahlquist Junior High sit a half-mile apart on opposite sides along West 2700 North — one of Farr West’s main roads. This simplifies morning drop-offs for parents of multiple kids. Niche lists Fremont High School in the top 40 percent of Utah public high schools for athletes; 2023 marked the Fremont girls’ basketball team’s sixth consecutive appearance in the state semi-finals.

Lots to do at Smith Family Park

Smith Family Park is a community hot spot, with a bright blue and green playground complete with a zipline and simulated climbing wall. There's a stocked pond, horse arena and pickleball court as well. Around 10 miles north is Willard Bay State Park, where jet skiing and swimming are popular summer activities. There are also cottonwood-shaded camping spots along the edges of the park's reservoir. The city's recreation center also offers youth sports programs. Athletes compete on several indoor sports courts, and a gym provides space for those looking to work out. Remuda Golf Course is renowned as Ogden’s most popular golfing destination and boasts beautiful mountainous views from the green. Dirt bikers head up to Hot Springs Raceway, about 5 miles north.

Patriotic celebrations in Farr West

No one displays patriotism like northern Utah residents. Most cities put on huge Fourth of July festivals, and Farr West is no different. Freedom Days are known for longstanding traditions. Residents can submit their drawings for the festival's t-shirt design or test their pitching skills at the Mayor’s dunk tank. The festivities culminate with an evening fireworks show.

Space to park an RV or boat

Families especially love Farr West’s flat land because they can park their RVs and boats without worrying about scrapes while hauling them up the driveway. The sidewalk-lined subdivisions are great for outdoor fun, but residents need a car to get to work or pick up groceries. The CAP Index crime score for Farr West is 2 out of 10, which is lower than the national average of 4. The region has relatively mild summers and snowy, cold winters.
