Rural privacy, caring community and outdoor space to hunt and fish

Forty miles outside of Downtown Cincinnati, the rural neighborhood of Fayetteville includes the Village of Fayetteville and the community of Lake Lorelei. The community of Fayetteville has a population of just 312 people, but the bonds between those people are strong. “Because it’s so small, everyone knows everyone. You'll always see a friendly face around,” says Realtor Christine Behm with Comey & Shepherd Realtors and over 30 years of experience. Residents support local businesses and have become a part of a tight-knit town that brings everyone together at community events. Over in Lake Lorelei, residents enjoy a gated community with a private lake and 23 miles of private roadways. Just like Fayetteville, the community that comes with living there is something that draws people in. “We’re a small city in ourselves here,” Chris Kwiatkowski, the Director of Operations at Lake Lorelei, says. “We had a tornado here in 2021. The community came together. People really care about each other.” Whether living in Fayetteville or Lake Lorelei, residents of this neighborhood get rural privacy, outdoor space to hunt and fish and a community that cares about one another.

From SheBrews Coffee to Pike Street Bar & Grill

For a locally owned café, coffee aficionados visit SheBrews Coffee, which serves pastries in a bright interior setting ideal for a morning pick-me-up. The longstanding Pike Street Bar & Grill doubles as a breakfast place in the morning and a pub hangout spot where people play pool in the evenings. “It’s a community treasure. The building is from the 1800s with an interesting history and the food is delicious,” Behm says. At Skyline Chili, locals enjoy classic cheese hot dogs, especially the Greek chili that the chain restaurant is best known for. At Dollar General, residents can stock up on groceries and household items. For a more traditional grocery shopping experience, Kroger in Blanchester is the best option, an 11-mile drive north.

Fayetteville and Lake Lorelei community events

The Fayetteville-Perry Library allows neighbors to gather for children’s programs like story times, adult programs including book clubs and special events like a family Halloween party. Fayetteville’s community events often celebrate holidays and Fayetteville Fire and EMS. At the Fireman's Festival & Parade, locals bring their kids to play on inflatables, grab drinks and snacks from food trucks and watch the cornhole tournament. The fire department and EMS also host a trick-or-treating event with a costume contest, snacks and prizes. Residents of the Lake Lorelei community can attend a variety of events. “We have clubs and committees that hold a bunch of things,” Kwiatkowski says. “We have a beginning of summer party. There’s always something going on.” The community also has a fishing tournament every other Tuesday and fireworks night throughout the summer.
