Landscaped yards and nearby parks
Centrally located between sweeping parks and the restaurants and conveniences of South College Avenue, Mission Hills is a quaint community with beautifully landscaped yards and streets shaded by mature trees, just 3 miles south of downtown Fort Collins.
1970s Colonial Revivals and eco-friendly incentives
The architectural scene here is comprised of split-levels, bi-levels and Colonial Revivals built in the mid-to-late 1970s. Single-family homes range from $500,000 to $900,000. There is a selection of one and two-bedroom condo units along Columbia Road ranging from $220,000 to $310,000. Many of the yards in Mission Hills feature native plants and low-water-use landscaping in efforts to reduce water waste in the arid Front Range climate. The City of Fort Collins has numerous programs encouraging eco-friendly gardening and landscaping, including the Xeriscape Incentive Program, which grants up to $1,000 to homeowners who convert high-water turf grass to low-water landscaping. The city also offers discounts for building garden boxes and rebates for water-efficient irrigation systems.
