Fort Collins is mainly served by Poudre School District, which is known as one of the best districts in the state. Liberty Common Charter School, Fossil Ridge High School, and Fort Collins High School are ranked as some of the best high schools in the state. Commuting in Fort Collins

Fort Collins is an award-winning, bicycle-friendly town thanks to its bike share program, bike lanes, trails, and abundant bike parking. Downtown Fort Collins and areas surrounding Colorado State are very pedestrian-friendly as well. Downtown has a trolley for people to use. Transfort offers several bus routes that run on compressed natural gas or bio-diesel. Around the Horn shuttle bus travels around CSU's campus and is free for everyone. Thanks to Fort Collins' alternative transportation methods, the average commute is about 19 minutes, shorter than the national average. However, traffic is expected to increase as the city grows. Residents can travel to Denver in about 60 minutes.
