Colorado State University is about 12 miles away, and the University of Northern Colorado is about 20 miles away.

Commutes in Loveland are getting longer since the city is growing, and the area is near several popular metro cities like Fort Collins and Greeley. However, Loveland currently has an average commute time of 24 minutes, lower than the national average of 26 minutes. Some residents are also “super-commuters” and experience average commutes of 90 minutes. Thankfully, Loveland has plenty of options for transportation. Driving is the main mode of transportation but carpooling and biking are also very common. The city is expanding bicycle and pedestrian facilities in an effort to create an eco-friendly, non-motorized system. COLT has bus services across Loveland, while FLEX provides regional service from Fort Collins South Transit Center to Boulder. FLEX also has stops in Berthoud and Longmont.
