Fort Hunt
Fairfax County 22307, 22308

Mid-century family homes with a blend of price points
With an average sales price of about $970,000, homes in Fort Hunt are almost $170,000 dollars more expensive than the average for Fairfax County. This may be because they also offer sizable footprints, lush surroundings along the Potomac, and access to several community pools with no homeowners associations. Built on what was once George Washington's estate, many homes proudly display plaques recognizing their rich history and offer charming colonial revival features like dormer windows and wrap-around porches. Sprinkled throughout older homes are newer builds constructed within the last ten years, showcasing sleeker designs and custom details, like open floor plans and large, walk-in closets. Because Fort Hunt runs along the banks of the Potomac and a creek also winds through the neighborhood, another highlight of homes here is their serene river views and private docks on the water. In addition to so many features, McCullough recommends the neighborhood for its "wonderful blend of options and price points," with homes ranging as low as $600,000 for three and four-bedroom colonial revival and ranch-style homes featuring original mid-century construction. For one to $3 million dollars, six-bedroom mansion homes featuring up to 8,000 square feet and private docks along the Potomac can also be found.Fairfax County Public Schools in the neighborhood
