Burkhardt says, “There’s lots of great parks in the area along George Washington Parkway, the backbone of Fort Hunt that borders the Potomac River." The Walk to Bust Cancer is a mile-long walk around Fort Hunt Park to raise awareness and mindfulness regarding cancer, hosted on a morning in October. Residents can trek across Mount Vernon Trail and rest in the Collingwood Picnic Area while watching the sun rise over the Potomac.

Thanks in part to its mix of residents, Hybla Valley offers a variety of diverse dining options, from Latin- to European-style restaurants. The Old House Cosmopolitan Grill has a menu of traditional German fare with a couple of Mediterranean dishes. Students in Hybla Valley attend Fairfax County Public Schools, including Hybla Valley Elementary School, rated a C-plus on Niche and Walt Whitman Middle School, rated a B-minus.
