Lexington Country Club is an active gated community
Lexington Country Club is a gated community in south Fort Myers that offers an active lifestyle in an attractive, resort-style setting. Recreational options here are anchored by an 18-hole golf course that underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2018. The community offers an array of contemporary housing options in a central location close to the beach, downtown Fort Myers and the city’s international airport. “It’s a nice, relaxing Florida lifestyle close to all the amenities,” says Bernie Smith of Always Island Time Realty in Fort Myers. “It’s an enjoyable experience.”
Most single family homes in the Lexington Country Club overlook the golf course, lakes or both.
The Lexington country club has its own driving range where you could practice your swing.

Community is dealing with flood damage
The prime location comes with risk. Fort Myers was hit by a pair of hurricanes in 2024. “All the communities in the area are dealing with flood damage,” Smith says. State law requires associations keep a reserve for repairs to in the wake of damaging storms. The law, however, does not apply to single-family homes.
The community is split into two regions: Golf Village and Lake Village. Golf Village comes with a bundled course membership. Options in Lexington Country Club range from two-bedroom condos to three-bedroom single-family homes. In-between are attached villas and carriage homes that combine single-family space with multi-family convenience. Condos are the most common housing type. The community’s design provides golf course and waterfront views to all residents. “It’s meticulously landscaped,” Smith says.
Much of the housing features driveways and attached garages. Condos offer covered parking. Prices for condos, attached villas and carriage homes range from the mid-$200,000s to the low $600,000s. Single-family home range from about $500,000 to more than $900,000. HOA fees range from just under $1,000 to about $1,600 per month. “A lot of condo units are on the market because of the association fees, but the community itself is very nice,” Smith says. Homeowners should be aware that insurance rates are affected by the high risk of flooding and wind damage during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
The water views from the condo lined shores within Lexington Country Club are second to none.
There are multiple varying architectural styles on single family homes throughout the Lexington Country Club neighborhood.

The golf course is the anchor of a active lifestyle
Though known for its generous fairways and large greens, the community’s golf course still presents a challenge. The layout winds its way around bunkers and water hazards and plays to more than 7,000 yards from the tips. Six tee box options cater to golfers of varying skill levels. But according to Smith, the neighborhood offers more than just golf. “The community has a complete package of sports,” Smith says. “It has golf, pools, pickleball, tennis and a lot of walking paths.”
There are six heated swimming pools and 12 lighted tennis courts. The latter hosts men’s, women’s and seniors’ leagues and round-robin socials. A fitness center is located in the clubhouse, which is the center of social activity. The community keeps a busy calendar of events that includes card games, arts and crafts, fitness classes and dancing.
The Island Club is a separate social destination that offers resort-style amenities, including an outdoor tiki bar and beach. An on-site coordinator plans field trips and excursions for residents interested in extending their activities outside of the community. Fort Myers Beach is less than 7 miles away. The buzzy beaches and attractions of Sanibel Island are about 30 minutes away.
Lexington Country Club has several full size professionally maintained clay tennis courts for members to play on.
The carriage home community within Lexington Country Club has its own clubhouse and pool with restaurant.
