Resort-style living from Arborwood Preserve to Botanica Lakes
The Arborwood neighborhood consists of several subdivisions, including Arborwood Preserve, Botanica Lakes, Bridgetown at the Plantation and Marina Bay. While each homeowners association appeals to different buyers, all come with comparable amenities. “Botanica Lakes has really nice, resort-style amenities, so you get bang for your buck with the homeowners association fees. It’s a gated community with alarm monitoring, cable, internet and landscaping included all in one,” explains Damon Vetere of Coldwell Banker, a Realtor who lived in Botanica Lakes for several years and has over a decade of experience with the Fort Myers real estate market. Though the neighborhood’s population varies depending on the subdivision, “it’s a pretty good mix of retirees, pre-retirees and younger families,” Vetere says. Prices across the subdivisions vary, but Botanica Lakes maintains the lowest price point, with three-bedroom homes starting at $355,000 and larger homes reaching $750,000. Marina Bay and Bridgetown boast similar home prices, with two-bedroom houses beginning close to $450,000 and four-bedroom homes exceeding $875,000. For condo options, Arborwood Preserve’s two-bedroom units start at around $340,000.

Private amenities, The Plantation and Six Mile Slough
Recreational opportunities vary by subdivision, but most communities throughout Arborwood include tennis courts, pools, fitness classes and pickleball courts. For activities outside the bounds of the homeowners associations, The Plantation Golf and Country Club features a members-only golf course in the southernmost part of the neighborhood, and Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve brings thousands of acres of green space and wetlands less than 10 miles west. For longer adventures, Estero Bay Preserve State Park borders Rocky Bay, less than 15 miles away, and features hiking trails, boat launches and wildlife observation opportunities.

B-graded schools in Lee County
Part of Lee County Public Schools, the neighborhood benefits from a B-plus-graded district, according to Niche. Kids attend all B-graded schools, beginning with Treeline Elementary. From here, students transition to Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle and graduate from Riverdale High. Students at Riverdale can elect for International Baccalaureate courses or participate in one of over 20 after-school activities, including Marine Biology Club and Hip Hop Club.
Trips to the ball game and downtown Fort Myers
With JetBlue Park bordering the neighborhood to the south, Arborwood gains access to the spring training site for the Boston Red Sox and a local hub for live music and festivals. For access to annual events in Fort Myers, like Taste of the Beach or Edison Festival of Light, residents can drive less than 15 miles to downtown.Easy rides down I-75 and flights out of town
Whether by car, bus or plane, travel from Arborwood proves simple. The 50 bus links directly to the Gulf Coast Medical Center and Cape Coral proper, and the nearest ramp to Interstate 75 is about 3 miles away, connecting the neighborhood to cities like Tampa and Miami in less than 150 miles. Because stores and restaurants line Daniels Parkway and Gateway Boulevard, residents seldom need to venture more than a few miles away for the basics. There are two Publix Super Market locations along Daniels Parkway: one 3 miles east at Sky Walk and one 6 miles west at Daniels Crossing. For dining out, The Saucy Meatball serves Italian cuisine about two miles west of Arborwood, and Fancy’s Southern Café offers a menu of American southern fare less than five miles away. Gulf Coast Town Center is also less than 10 miles south of the neighborhood for a more comprehensive selection of shops and restaurants.
