Harrison Hill overlooks the city to the north, and you can enjoy views of the downtown skyline from the front porch. The community's builders drew architectural influence from popular early 20th-century designs, inspired by Tudors, Colonial Revivals and Cape Cods. It gives the homes in Harrison Hill a unique flair. "The community and neighborhood are fantastic – very focused on development, growth and safety," says Ben Ruhl a real estate broker at Mike Thomas Associates and a Harrison Hill resident. He adds that the market is steady, with most for-sale homes finding a new owner within a week. Homes usually sell between $100,000 and the low $200,000s, but sometimes, especially large properties can sell in the high $200,000s.
A unique aspect of this neighborhood is that porches commonly have arched roofs.

Green spaces and community events make for a vibrant recreational life
Packard Park, the closest park to Harrison Hill, has a playground and seasonal splash pad. You can also head just west to Foster Park's hundreds of acres, punctuated with gardens and nature trails. It also features a golf course, children's play area, a replica of Abraham Lincoln's log cabin and views of the St. Mary's River. Residents of Harrison Hill host year-round events at its parks, including:
Beautification projects such as tree plantings
Social gatherings such as book clubs and group yoga
Holiday celebrations, from Easter egg hunts to Fourt of July barbecues
The neighborhood association is active, hosting monthly town meetings. According to Ruhl, the biggest local project is Packard 2030, a Fort Wayne community development plan for 15 adjoining neighborhoods, focusing on neighborhood character, parks and mobility. "We're investing in current residents, inclusivity, infrastructure and creative arts-focused initiatives," Ruhl says.

Locally owned restaurants and nearby shopping opportunities
While Harrison Hill might not be a shopping or dining hub, you’re still within walking distance of a few beloved locally owned restaurants. Chance Bar serves New American dishes in its upscale, white-tablecloth dining room, while Friendly Fox is a laid-back spot to sit down for breakfast. Commercial stop-offs along the main roads offer groceries, chain restaurants and businesses such as banks and gas stations. Kroger is the neighborhood's nearest supermarket, located about a mile south in Southgate Shopping Center.
Children can walk to the public elementary school
Harrison Hill is zoned to the Fort Wayne Community District, if you need to consider schooling. Students can go to Harrison Hill Elementary, which is no more than a half-mile from any point in the neighborhood, before Kekionga Middle and South Side High. All schools receive average ratings, and Indiana has school choice within a district during open enrollment periods. In addition to public schools, Fort Wayne has plenty of highly rated private and faith-based education options, many within commuting distance of Harrison Hill.
Harrison Hill Elementary School serves K-5 with a student-teacher ratio of 20 to 1.

Close to main city connectors and some of the region's top employers, the neighborhood is in a prime location if you need to consider commuting. Downtown Fort Wayne is 3 miles north, and Lutheran Hospital is around 7 miles west. For getting around, you can drive along Fairfield Avenue, South Calhoun Street and Highway 27, which run near the neighborhood and lead downtown. Most residents can walk to Citilink bus stops for a car-free commute. “I see the buses running all the time, each day of the week. They’re very popular all around the city,” says Travis Striggle, a Realtor with Mike Thomas Associates with nearly a decade of experience selling homes.
