Fort Wayne’s Interurban Acres has an appeal immediately obvious in its name. Buyers can find expansive residential lots with private driveways just a few miles from Downtown Fort Wayne. “That area, although you have a rural feel, is really close to the city’s amenities,” says Realtor Brian Kuhns of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group. “It’s five minutes away from Jefferson Pointe, an open-air mall.” Rockhill Park is another spot that’s usually busy, rain or shine. To add to the small-town, nearly-rural vibe, students can walk to both Lindley Elementary and Portage Middle School, something few Fort Wayne students can boast about.

Concerns about Fort Wayne's water supply
Until July 2024, the Fort Wayne water supply’s pollution problem went unaddressed. The city sued various local businesses for their role in the decades-long introduction of PFAs, or “forever chemicals,” into the city’s water. Local news sources report on behalf of Fort Wayne’s citizens that the noticeable difference in taste of the drinking water is due to the aforementioned problem that is now being tackled.
