Hollow Hills has well-maintained homes in the buzzing Fort Worth housing market
On the east end of Fort Worth, Hollow Hills is a quiet residential community in a buzzing housing market. “This North Texas market is one of the hotter areas that a lot of people from out of state are wanting to move to,” says Realtor Michelle Lin with Century 21 Judge Fite Company. “Fort Worth has had lots and lots of growth. In that particular area, there’s a lot of unique properties, with some older homes and a lot of new builds. It’s quiet and private, and people have taken good care of the houses there.”
New traditional homes on residential streets
Hollow Hills has a mix of single-family homes and apartments. New traditional architecture is most common for single-family homes, but the neighborhood has ranch-style and Cape Cod homes as well. “It’s a good mixture of homes,” Lin says. “They’re older, but a lot of the homes have been completely updated.” Homes in Hollow Hills typically have three to five bedrooms and two-car garages, suiting the neighborhood well to growing families. The neighborhood’s streets have sidewalks, providing ease for going on runs and walks. Most recent sales prices in Hollow Hills range from $300,000 to $400,000.
Dual credit, JROTC and P-TECH in Fort Worth ISD
Students in Hollow Hills can attend Bill J. Elliott Elementary School, which is located in the neighborhood, followed by Jean McClung Middle School and Eastern Hills High School. All of these schools receive C grades from Niche. Eastern Hills High School has a dual credit partnership with Tarrant County College, an award-winning JROTC program and is home to Fort Worth ISD’s IT/Cybersecurity P-TECH Academy. The neighborhood is also home to Saint Ignatius of Loyola College Preparatory School, a private high school with an A grade from Niche.
Spending time outside at Village Creek Natural Area and Eastbrook Park
Hollow Hills sits alongside Village Creek Natural Area, a park with a hiking and biking trail, a picnic area with grills and a fishing pier. Less than half a mile west, Eastbrook Park is a small neighborhood green space with a playground.
Shopping and dining at Eastchase Market
Two miles north of the neighborhood, Eastchase Market is a shopping center with retailers like Target, Marshalls and Ross, plus an ALDI for groceries and an AMC. Chain restaurants like IHOP, McDonald’s and Burger King surround the shopping center, which is also home to No Frills Grill & Sports Bar, a local establishment with TVs, video games and pool that serves a mix of Tex-Mex and American fare.
Taking Interstate 30 to Dallas, Arlington and Fort Worth
Hollow Hills is a car-dependent neighborhood a mile south of Interstate 30, 6 miles west of Arlington, 10 miles east of downtown Fort Worth and 25 miles west of downtown Dallas. “It’s close enough to the fun things in Fort Worth, and it’s not too far from Dallas,” Lin says. “It’s pretty close – about 20 minutes - to the airport, and it’s really close to the entertainment area in Arlington, where the Cowboys and Rangers play and Six Flags.” The neighborhood’s north end has Trinity Metro bus stops along Brentwood Stair Road. The closest medical center is Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, 6 miles east.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
