Newer neighborhood in the Metroplex
Sitting in the northwest corner of the Metroplex, The Bar Ranch neighborhood offers an HOA community outside of city limits. Established in 2005, it is one of the newer areas around Dallas-Fort Worth, featuring suburban living while only about 13 miles from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Fort Worth. "It's quiet. You don't hear a lot of noise or traffic, which is a big selling point," says Century 21 Judge Fite Company Realtor Skylar Winingham, who lives nearby. Students here also have access to an excellent school system, according to Winingham. The neighborhood also receives a 2 out of 10 on the CAP Index Crime Score, compared to the national average of 4.

Traditional architecture and contemporary builds
Houses in The Bar Ranch vary depending on which side of the subdivision they are on. The properties to the east usually have more traditional architecture and sit snuggly in a grid-style pattern. On the western side, the houses are larger contemporary builds and have some acreage. Prices usually range from around $300,000 to $400,000 for three- and four-bedroom homes, while the larger custom builds with several acres can go for between $500,000 and a million dollars. The community has HOA fees, usually from $30 to $50 monthly. While the homes sit tightly next to their neighbors, the roads have enough space for street parking and sidewalks with room for people to pass each other by. Driveways and garages are common throughout, with most homes having both.

Rodeos and concerts at Billy Bob’s Texas on Rodeo Plaza
Eagle's Point Bar and Grill is a local favorite for sports fans who gather to watch the games and enjoy hamburgers, fries and billiards under the neon beer lights. Billy Bob's Texas on Rodeo Plaza is a popular place for a night out. The venue hosts rodeos, concerts and the Honky Tonk Kitchen, serving up authentic Western cuisine, including burgers and barbeque. "I've been going to Billy Bob's Texas since I was 16," Winingham says. "That's where me and my friends have always gone to hang out." A few blocks away, on Saginaw Boulevard, there are several chains and fast-food joints, like Whataburger and Panda Express. Kroger, Albertsons and Walmart are in the same area for groceries and everyday needs.
