McLemore
Affluent farmland homes and subdivisions
Many homes sit on spacious open lots bordered by long stretches of fencing, while others remain tucked away in the woods. The subdivisions here tend to have smaller spaces, but residents — like the ones in McLemore Farms — can still enjoy lot sizes spanning over 1 acre. The architecture consists of ranch-style and farmhouse style homes, contemporary Traditionals and Colonial Revivals, some of which showcase Greek and French flourishes. The most affluent homes are those being built around Lewisburg Pike and McLemore Road as part of a long-term residential and commercial mixed-use project. Thompson says several new homes there sit anywhere within 30 days to five months of closing. “And then there’s just more being built, one after the other. They’re selling them about as fast as they can build them,” he says. Although there are a few outliers, most single-family homes here go from $1 million to $2.5 million.Finding shopping and dining needs at neighboring Berry Farms
McLemore sits within minutes of some of the Nashville metro’s most vibrant shopping and dining spots. “It’s close to Franklin, its restaurants, shopping and so on. There are a lot of malls. In fact, new malls have sprung up,” says McLemore resident Karen Richard, a corporate photographer and the owner of Karen L. Richard Photography. The mixed-use and master-planned Berry Farms community is among the latest shopping and dining additions. Morning commuters begin their day with a stop at Honest Coffee Roasters Berry Farms location. Lunch options include warm slices at Soulshine Pizza, or the acclaimed downhome cooking of Edley’s Bar-B-Que. At night, many frequent the Benchmark Sports Pub + Eatery to kick back a few beers and catch up on the latest news and sports highlights. Berry Farms also has a Publix grocery store.Within a few miles of Thompson’s Station amenities
Dog owners can let their pets exercise and socialize at the Nutro Dog Park in Thompsons’ Station, about 2 miles south. The park features trails and two fenced areas for small and large dogs. The dog park also connects to the 200-acre Preservation Park, a former grazing area that also served as the grounds for the Civil War’s Battle of Thompson’s Station. Visitors to this vast natural space can hike or opt to relax on a bench to take in the scenic views of the hills. While at the park, it's common to spot wildlife like rabbits hopping about, and there are also some hay bales and battlefield markers along the trails. “We love the area, partly, because there’s a lot of great opportunities for hiking, which is something we enjoy doing,” Richard says.Access to some of the best public schools in Tennessee
The Williamson County Schools district serves this community's students and gets an A from ratings site Niche. Students in McLemore may start at Oak View Elementary, which earns an A from Niche. The ratings site also ranks Oak View among the 20 best elementary schools in the state. From there, students may then go on to Legacy Middle School, followed by Independence High School, both of which receive A grades from Niche. The ratings site also puts the two institutions in the top 10% of the state's best public middle and high schools. In 2024, Independence High was recognized as one of the district schools with the highest percentage of students who received awards from the College Board’s National Recognition Programs. The awards are presented to minority and underrepresented students who score exceptionally high on the PSAT and AP exams.Minutes from Williamson County Fair and Thompson’s Station celebrations
McLemore is only minutes from the Williamson County AG EXPO Park in the southern tip of Franklin. The venue hosts the Williamson County Fair in August, a massive event including carnival rides and livestock shows. The park also has three arenas where it hosts other activities ranging from trade shows to rodeos. The community is also only a few miles from Thompson’s Station and its lineup of events. In December, numerous tents take over the lawn of the historic Homestead Manor for the Thompson’s Station Holiday Market. The market draws visitors who are on the hunt for locally made crafts and works of art.Convenient U.S. 31 and I-65 commute
No public transit system reaches this part of Williamson County, but most here drive to commute across the region. U.S. Highway 31 — or the Columbia Pike — goes directly to downtown Franklin about 5 miles north. The highway also goes to the suburbs of Spring Hill and Columbia to the south. The community is also close to Interstate 65, which provides a route to downtown Nashville about 25 miles north. McLemore is also less than 30 miles from the Nashville International Airport, the region’s hub for commercial flights; and the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin provides major medical services in this area.Important to know
