A growing rural community in Stafford County
Just 20 miles from D.C., Mountain View is a neighborhood where the people will make you feel at home. “It’s such a friendly community,” says Lisa Nelson of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. “The people here wave and take time to speak with one another, it doesn’t have that big city feel even though we’re close to D.C.” Nelson notes that many in Mountain View move to the area to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and settle on large plots of land. “Stafford County used to be completely country and even though it’s grown it still has that charm.”
Homes in Mountain View come in a variety of sizes and styles.

Spacious homes and spacious yards
Mountain View homes are noted by their spacious lots. Many homes have over an acre of space, and the mature leafy trees that are prevalent in most yards provide further privacy. A three-bedroom ranch-style home begins just under $400,000, while a larger four-bedroom home on 1.5 acres of land costs around $800,000. For $1.1 million, a buyer can acquire a five-bedroom home with over 6,000 square feet. Large, well-maintained yards are prevalent in the area and provide homeowners with gardening opportunities. The homes feature long driveways, keeping them far off the main drives. While there are not many sidewalks in the area, the sprawling lawns are perfect for dogs to stretch their paws.
Homes with covered porches nestled among the trees are found throughout Mountain View.
In Mountain View you have privacy, but never far from a friendly neighbor.

Parks packed with activity
There are plenty of ways to stay active and explore the outdoors in Mountain View and the locals take every opportunity to do so. “The parks are full,” says Nelson. “Even just driving you’ll see people working in their yards, they love to be outside.” Willowmere Park is home to many youth athletics events with four baseball fields and four rectangle multi-purpose fields. The park also features a pavilion for picnics, a paved walking trail and a playground area for small children. For more nature, Curtis Park is a large outdoor area that offers plenty of trail space through densely wooded areas. The park is home to Curtis Lake which is a prime fishing spot for anglers looking to land a largemouth bass. Residents can cool off in the outdoor pool or grab their skateboard and try new tricks out at the skate park. For a relaxing afternoon on the links, Gauntlet Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course with scenic views.

Mountain View is home to some excellent Italian options for a night out. Ricco’s Pizza offers dine-in and carry-out and has everything from traditional cheese pizza to specialty pies like the shrimp alfredo pizza and the chicken fiesta pizza. The house special is sausage, onions, black olives and a special blend of mozzarella. Vinny’s Italian Grill is a great place to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail at the full bar before a meal of chicken primavera or stuffed shells. Chef Noe Canales is crafting the menu at Robiolina. The veal scaloppine and pan-seared duck breast are sure to satisfy. For something different, Paddy’s Public House offers plenty of beers on tap and traditional English and Irish cuisine.
Convenience is key as the Walmart Supercenter located near the restaurants off Highway 610 provides plenty of home goods.
