Brookvale
Curvy streets, cul-de-sacs and a range of styles
The curvy streets in Brookvale often end in cul-de-sacs, and the homes display a range of styles, from ranch-style to two-story homes that are Spanish-inspired, contemporary and Tudor Revival. The median value is $1.9 million, and prices range from about $1.1 million for a two-bedroom single-family home to about $3 million for an updated four-bedroom home with a three-car garage. “It’s a nice neighborhood close to the Fremont downtown area, but mainly residential,” says Omar Murillo, a Bay area native and top-producing Realtor. “It’s got the ranch-style homes, but also the two-story homes that are more spacious.”Quarry Lakes: big draw for Brookvale and surrounding communities
Visitors of Quarry Lakes Regional Park hike, boat, swim and fish for bass, catfish and trout. No gas motors are allowed on the lakes, and occasional blue-green algae warnings restrict swimming and fishing, but the area is always popular for viewing wildlife. The habitat is home to bald eagles, coyotes, geese and herons. A Beer City Festival is held there annually, with 5k’s, 10k’s and half marathons in the morning and music and beer in the afternoon. “Quarry Lakes is an amazing resource,” says Adam Ray, an organizer of Beer City Fest, which holds events around the region. “About 20 percent of people come to the festival from the Fremont area, and people travel in from all over the Bay area as well.”Schools in and near the neighborhood earn high ranks and awards
