Small East Bay suburb next to downtown Fremont and city parks
Located at the base of the Fremont Hills, Cherry-Guardino is a small East Bay neighborhood backed by traditional suburban conveniences. The community features a collection of established homes, top-rated schools, a sprawling city park and an array of retail and dining options. Partners Amiee Song and Bob Lewis of local Coldwell Banker Realty both share how Cherry-Guardino is a desirable Fremont community. “It’s a great neighborhood that’s close to the BART station and also next to Lake Elizabeth Park, which is very popular,” says Lewis, who has been a Bay Area Realtor for over 25 years. “Fremont, in general, is a top city in the East Bay, so this is a really attractive area to live in.”
A mix of contemporary style homes and condos
The neighborhood’s quiet, tree-lined streets feature common housing designs such as contemporary, traditional and contemporary ranch-style. The typical home features a private driveway, attached garage and ample yard space. Prices range between $1.2 million to $1.9 million. Condos and townhouses, usually contemporary in style, are another option in the neighborhood, with prices ranging from $450,000 to $1.4 million. “The Bay Area is expensive, but if you live on this side of the bay, you’re saving hundreds of thousands of dollars on a home,” says Paul LeJoy, a Realtor with Pacific Realty Partners who has lived in the Bay Area for more than two decades. “A lot of people work remotely now, so if you live here, you save all that money, and it’s not as crowded as it is on the peninsula.”
