Small and large parks joined by Mission Creek Trail
Mission San Jose Community Park is adjacent to the Mission San Jose High School Baseball Field and the Haiao Chinese Academy. The green space has six tennis courts, a full-size basketball court and an athletic track for walkers and runners. Multi-use Mission Creek Trail runs nearly 6 miles from the Mission San Jose neighborhood to Washington Hospital. It passes through Mission Valley and into nearby Central Park, slightly northwest of Mission Valley.Fremont’s Central Park is an expansive space with multiple playgrounds. The largest is the Sabercat Play Area, which has a treehouse picnic spot for great views. “Central Park is a main attraction. It’s a beautiful park with Lake Elizabeth right there in the middle of it,” says Paul LeJoy, a Realtor with Pacific Realty Partners and Bay Area resident for more than 20 years. “It’s a nice place for families to have picnics. There’s also a dog park there, and no matter what time of year, you’ll find people running around and being active, playing a lot of sports.” There are soccer and baseball fields, a skatepark and basketball courts. The Fremont Main Library sits at the western edge, while Fremont Park Golf Course borders the eastern side. Aqua Adventure Water Park operates seasonally for warm weather fun.
