Most houses in Mack sit on several acres with views of the Grand Valley's multiple mountain ranges. Single-family home prices typically range from $550,000 to $850,000. At the low end, ranch-style homes and farmhouses with over 2,000 square feet have 5-to-10-acre lots often paired with chicken coops, barns, stables and land enclosed by barbed-wire fences. New Traditional homes built in the 2020s are scattered across brand-new subdivisions, like Cattlemens Subdivision and the Coyote Hills subdivision, which are still being developed. Homes in these enclaves cost between $700,000 and $850,000. "In my opinion, Mack is the new suburb that Grand Junction will grow towards," Renstrom says. Country Living Park is a neighborhood of manufactured homes with a park, a swimming pool and barbecue grills. Manufactured homes in this community range from $150,000 to $300,000.State parks and hiking through canyon ravines

Highline Lake also has campgrounds, hiking trails and a 7-mile mountain biking course around two lakes. The Kokopelli Trail climbs a rocky ravine and red canyons on a 142-mile mountain biking path to Moab, Utah. The Kern Oasis is a privately owned recreation center with a rock-climbing wall, swimming pool and zipline. The Rabbit's Ear Trail is a 4.8-mile loop, which elevates up to 700 feet with views of the Colorado River snaking through the canyons. The Hawkeye Trail and the Lion's Head Trail lead to Rattlesnake Canyon, with pink and red-streaked walls and natural bridges to walk across floating rock structures.B-rated Fruita Monument High School

In July, RVs flood the campgrounds on U.S. Route 6 for Country Jam. "It's crazy. We get big headliners at Country Jam, so it draws a lot of people from Colorado and Utah," Renstrom says. "People think of Country Jam when they think of Mack." In September, the Fruita Fall Festival has live music, a craft vendor fair, and a parade with activities like an outhouse race. The Fruita Farmers and Makers Market features handmade goods, fresh meat and produce each Saturday morning through October in Downtown Fruita.Taking the highway to Fruita and Grand Junction

Interstate 70 is the Grand Valley's central expressway, going east to Denver and crossing into Utah toward Salt Lake City. The Grand Junction Regional Airport makes connecting flights to the Denver International Airport.Local eateries and farm-fresh groceries
Mack has limited access to restaurant and retail options, but residents rely on Fruita and Grand Junction for grocery stores, box retail and restaurants. One of Mack’s easiest commutes is to Cattlemen's Bar & Grill, a steakhouse in Loma with a salad bar in a large barn-style building connected to a livestock auction house. Fruita is a town center with markets and eateries about 10 miles east. Camilla's Kaffe is a breakfast and lunch spot with Tex-Mex cuisine and vintage décor.
