Just south of Lakeland, the community of Fuller Heights offers a quiet, suburban respite close to nearby amenities. "You're close to so many cities; if you don't want to be in town, still want to be suburban and don't want a long commute, it's a great place," says Realtor Cyleste Goodson with Regal Real Estate, who has served the area for nearly 30 years. This community of over 10,000 residents is close to major roads, so commuting is accessible for residents working in the surrounding areas. With its growing residential areas and well-rated schools, Fuller Heights is popular with families and others seeking a suburban lifestyle.

Former industrial community turned into commuter locale
The community has its industrial origins in phosphate mining, according to Goodson. "Phosphate was the main industry and helped develop the area into communities like Fuller Heights," Goodson says. "Furniture making was another huge industry here--the Badcock Home Furniture warehouse was in nearby Mulberry." Today, phosphate mining and furniture making are a thing of the past. Most residents now work in retail, healthcare and construction. Fuller Heights is a popular commuter locale that allows residents to travel to cities like Lakeland or Tampa for work.
