Goodyear schools receive high marks from Niche
Local kids can attend Desert Star School, rated B-minus by Niche, for kindergarten through Grade 8. The B-rated Desert Edge High offers an Agriculture Education program with access to a school garden and greenhouse. The neighborhood's largest parks are the 6-acre Estrella Vista South Park, where folks can play soccer and basketball, and the 4-acre Estrella Vista North Park, which has a playground and picnic shelter with tables and a grill. Less than a mile north, the aquatic center at the Goodyear Recreation Campus is an oasis in the summer, when temperatures here regularly top 100 degrees. Getting around from Estrella Vista
Interstate 10 is found about 5 miles north of Estrella Vista, leading 22 miles east to Phoenix. Estrella Parkway, the area’s main thoroughfare, is centrally located in the neighborhood. Most streets are sidewalk-lined and bikeable, but locals are generally car-dependent; Valley Metro buses stop about 4 miles north along McDowell Road. Abrazo West Campus Medical Center is about 6 miles northeast. The regional Phoenix-Goodyear Airport is 4 miles east, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is 26 miles east.
