Palm Valley
Suburban Neighborhood in Goodyear, Arizona
Maricopa County 85340, 85395
Contemporary Traditional homes with Spanish and Tuscan influences
Palm Valley has neatly arranged subdivisions. The community primarily consists of contemporary Traditional houses designed with Spanish and Tuscan influences. Tiled roofing and stucco siding comprise standard features, while a few houses boast distinct traits like turret roofs. On the designs, Linda Allison, a Realtor with Russ Lyon Sotheby International Realty, says: “You don’t see a lot of the really modern, contemporary boxes, glass and concrete.” Palm Valley is also home to PebbleCreek, a 55-plus community with luxury amenities. PebbleCreek’s facilities include multiple pools and a more than 300-seat venue with a stage and auditorium seating. Single-family homes across Palm Valley can go from $450,000 for ones under 2,000 square feet to $750,000 for larger builds with acreage. Even larger houses can reach the $1 million mark. Condos can run between $230,000 and the upper $300,000s. “It is a little higher pricing, but I think they seek it out just because of the feel,” Barrett says.Golfing and Palm Valley’s outdoor sports amenities
Palm Valley is peppered with neighborhood parks that provide space for sports like basketball, soccer, baseball and softball. Rio Paseo Park offers relaxing views of a pond and a small waterfall. Visitors passing through the Rio Paseo can walk or jog on the Bullard Wash Trail and reach the Square. With its lush green field, the Square occasionally hosts outdoor yoga. Other neighborhood green spaces include the Goodyear Community Park, which has more sports amenities like a splash pad and skate park. The Palm Valley Community Center has a swimming pool, tennis courts and a game room with billiards tables. Golfers have options like the Palm Valley Golf Club’s three nine-hole courses and the 18-hold Eagle’s Nest Golf Course. Eagle’s Nest has several lakes and provides views of the White Tank Mountains.New projects at Millenium High
A few highly rated public schools serve Palm Valley. The community is home to Palm Valley Elementary School, which receives a B-plus from ratings site Niche. Students may then go on to Western Sky Middle School and Millennium High School, which both receive A-minus grades from Niche. The high school is listed among the top 50 and top 100 in the state, respectively, for best high schools for athletes and best college prep public high school. Recent additions to the high school include a roughly $16 million state-of-the-art multipurpose gym featuring three basketball courts. The school also has a new welding program.Year-round fun at the GSQ
The Square gives the community convenient access to numerous events throughout the year. Dog owners can bring their furry companions to the Wag & Tag Festival in March. Activities include an obstacle course, booths selling various pet items and even adoptions and vaccinations. The Square hosts other events like Ritmos y Raices — or Rhythm and Roots — which is part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. Its entertainment includes Mariachi music, dancing and vendors of Hispanic cuisine. Other city events include the annual Star Spangled Fourth, a series of July 4 activities at the Goodyear Ballpark and Recreation Campus.I-10 connection to downtown Phoenix and Sky Harbor
Many here drive to commute, but the Valley Metro does have a few bus stops on the community’s outskirts. Interstate 10 runs along the southern end of Palm Valley, providing a direct connection to downtown Phoenix about 20 miles east. Arizona State Route 303 also goes to many communities and suburbs in the northern part of metro Phoenix. “People who are based at Luke Air Force Base, or anybody who travels frequently for work ... that would be a really easy commute for them,” Allison says. While the Phoenix-Goodyear Airport is only a few miles south, many here travel to the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for out-of-state flights. The Phoenix-Goodyear Airport serves as a general aviation reliever airport for Sky Harbor. Major medical facilities close to the community include the Abrazo West Campus on McDowell Road, which has a Level 1 Trauma program.Burgers, brews and movies at Harkins Theatres
Although a few chain brands are popular in the community, they still enjoy several local staples. Akai Hana Sushi & Grill serves a variety of deep-fried treats and ramen bowls inside its colorful spaces. For Southeast Asian cuisine, there’s the Royal Jasmine Thai Restaurant. The PebbleCreek community has a few of its own restaurants, too. They include Ed’s Dogs, where patrons simply walk up to a window to order hot dogs and burgers. Inside the Market at Estrella Falls, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse serves American comfort meals and craft beers in a laidback space with modern designs. Popular chains here include the Panera Bread, which is one of the busiest in the nation. The Harkins Theatres Estrella Falls 16 shows the latest blockbuster films. Safeway is among the nearest grocery stores.Important to know
