A rural, spacious northern Connecticut community with access to Hartford’s offerings
Idyllic West Granby is a rural paradise, perfect for homebuyers who want enough room to stretch their legs. Houses here tend to be on large lots with plenty of trees, and residents are happy to sit on the front porch, take in the sights and wave at cars as they drive by, which probably won't be very often. “The area is very farm and horse friendly,” Anna Sogliuzzo, a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties and a resident of the area for the past 20 years says. “40% of the land here is protected and preserved space that won’t be touched. There’s a lot of outdoor space for walking and hiking.”

"Houses go up in the middle of the week and are gone by the weekend."

There are countless waterfalls in Enders State Forest in West Granby.
Explore Enders State Forest
Enders State Forest seems limitless from the ground. Standing at the entrance to one of its trails, visitors find the forest is massive and inviting. The 2,100-acre forest is threaded with trails that lead to vistas 1,100 feet above sea level, and for those wondering how low they can go, the forest's wetlands bring visitors to 900 feet. There are plunge pools, low waterfalls and streams throughout the forest, especially in these wetlands. While they may look inviting, Connecticut officials do not recommend dipping a toe in. Visitors can follow one trail in the forest to overlook the waterfalls, and the views are sublime. Some sections of the forest are also open for hunting and fishing, and visitors will be able to spot native Connecticut birds just about anywhere. Another popular spot in West Granby is Salmon Brook Park. Whether visitors want to play pickup basketball or go for a hike on the trails, that’s just the start of all the activities they can enjoy at this park.
