Mansfield Independent School District serves Sheffield families
Sheffield’s younger residents may begin their education at Starrett Elementary, which has a C-plus grade from Niche. From there, they can move on to Barnett Jr. High and Bowie High, both of which share a B grade. Bowie High serves approximately 2,700 students from ninth to 12th grade and offers many clubs and organizations for students to participate in, including Speech and Debate, Fashion Club and the Bowie Board Game Club.

High Hawk Martin Meadows Park is located at the intersection of Lake Ridge Parkway and High Hawk Boulevard. The park features a small pond and a large, covered playground shaded from the hot Texas sun. The park also has a paved trail that winds throughout, and the covered picnic pavilion has tables for get-togethers. Fish Creek Trail, also known as the “trail of two cities,” is a paved 7.3-mile trail that connects several parks spanning Arlington to Grand Prairie and includes bags to clean up after pets. Every Spring, the trail bursts with a range of native wildflowers. Parks connected to Fish Creek Trail are Fish Creek Linear Park, a hotspot for rollerblading and jogging, as well as Tails 'N Trails Dog Park.
Three miles from Walnut Creek is Joe Pool Lake. 60 miles of the lake’s shoreline consists of parks, marinas and campsites. Here, the 784-acre Lynn Creek Park offers sandy beaches with volleyball courts and boat ramps close to Lynn Creek Marina. Camping is popular with Loyd Park visitors, as well as hiking and horseback riding.
High Hawk Park Entrance operates from 7 am to 9 pm and remains staple year round.

Aside from grocery stores like Walmart and Sam’s Club, along with several chain restaurants, the shopping center also houses two movie theaters, Grand Prairie PREMIERE LUX 10 & Pizza Pub and Cinemark Grand Prairie. Both highways are often used for commuting into Dallas and Fort Worth, which are 26 and 22 miles away, respectively. Sheffield is also about 15 miles south of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. For immediate healthcare needs, Baylor Scott and White Emergency Hospital is located on TX-360, and Medical City Arlington is 5 miles west via I-20.
