A calm place to settle outside the major cities
Uniontown, in the city of Green, is home to about 7,000 people between two of Ohio's job centers. It's a popular choice, says Realtor Nicholas Rock of Keller Williams Legacy Group Realty. “It’s a bit more of an upscale, smaller community,” he says. “People who live here want to take advantage of the commute to Akron and Canton.” Schools near the top of a popular rating system only add to the allure, Rock says. “Green Local Schools are some of the best in Summit County, and actually, the schools are much newer.''

Classic homes with an aesthetic twist
Residential lots are typically a quarter-acre or more, and ranch-styles and split-levels are the most common. The homes’ architecture also shows influences of Colonial and Tudor Revivals. “Most communities like this are going to have newer homes styles and more recent builds,” says Rock. Despite Route 619 passing through its center, this quiet area earns a “calm” score from First Street. Homes typically sell for between $180,000 and $330,000.

Menches Brothers boasts a menu of more than 50 burger varieties. “We actually go to the Twisted Olive pretty often,” says Rock of the upscale Italian restaurant 8 miles outside Uniontown. Various pizza shops and chains are in the opposite direction, as are the Aldi and Giant Eagle grocery stores.
