Greensboro suburb near convenient interstates and active farms
The neighborhood of McConnell takes its name from the community’s main thoroughfare. This is a very appropriate coincidence for this Greensboro suburb, where proximity to major highways is the main draw. “People live in McConnell because we are right by Interstate 40 in an area that's not surrounded by a ton of other houses or apartment complexes,” says Hannah O’Neal, the property manager at the neighborhood’s Innisbrook Village Apartments. “We are an exit away from Greensboro and 10 minutes from Burlington, but it’s pretty quiet here, and there’s not much traffic in the McConnell Road area.” Yuliana Mota Flores, Realtor with eXp agrees, also noting that the neighborhood is outside of the city limits, so residents don’t have to pay city taxes. Flores, who has been selling homes across Greensboro, also notes that living more in the countryside comes with another benefit, too: “People still farm in the area, and just going down McConnell Road, you’ll see farmers who sometimes have their products up for sale.”
The McConnell community sits a short drive away from downtown Greensboro.

Suburban-feeling homes, ranch styles on wooded lots and townhouses
Many residential streets branch off the neighborhood’s namesake McConnell Road, which runs largely parallel to Interstate 40. Most homes are concentrated in the Creekside subdivision, which was built in the 2000s and 2010s. Here, homes tend to follow New Traditional and ranch-style designs, with parcels spanning between 6,000 and 10,000 square feet. Beyond Creekside, buyers will find a selection of ranch styles on wooded lots that can be a dozen acres or more. Single-family homes range in price from $200,000 to $470,000. Homes with higher acreages generally fall on the higher end of this spectrum, while the houses of Creekside tend to fall on the lower end. Townhouses line Youngstown Drive and go for between $160,000 and $210,000.
