In Sedgefield, backyard pools are sometimes just a chip shot away from fairways played by professional golfers. This neighborhood directly south of Greensboro was built around Sedgefield Country Club, and many large luxury homes border the club’s century-old golf course. Other houses are smaller properties farther from the course, but they still benefit from the wooded setting that sprawls around the country club. Though the community can feel secluded, two nearby interstates keep Sedgefield connected to the rest of the Greensboro area.

Just outside of the neighborhood, four fishing piers stretch over the lake at Hester Park, which also has a playground and tennis courts.

Sedgefield Country Club hosts the Wyndham Championship, a professional golf tournaments that's part of the PGA Tour and has been held in Greensboro under various names since the 1930s. Tens of thousands of spectators head to the neighborhood every August to catch sight of the players, which have included famous names such as Tiger Woods.
