A suburban Hagerstown community near schools and shopping centers
Just 3 miles from downtown Hagerstown sits the Hager's Crossing community, a neighborhood of recently constructed suburban homes near schools, major roads and shopping. Homebuyers here can choose from townhouses or single-family residences that offer grassy yards and above-average square footage. This neighborhood also features a clubhouse, only available to residents, with an outdoor pool and tennis courts. Jonathan Hager Elementary is in the heart of the community and a short walk or drive from many residences. Just outside the community, the roar of two highways and the crowds at the Centre at Hagerstown shopping mall means that residents do not have to go far to find daily necessities and travel routes.

Townhomes and single-family homes from the early 2000s
Colonial Revival and farmhouse-inspired homes are the most prominent styles in the Hager's Crossing community. Townhouses are found on the neighborhood’s eastern end, and larger single-family homes are located to the west. Most of the homes were built after 2000 and are set closer to the street, allowing for access to the shared parking lot or personal garages. “The area is pretty newly constructed and is full of those modern suburban homes you see all over,” says Nicolette Meiron, administrative assistant at Hager Elementary, who has been in the area for over three years. Often, backyards open out to the community or are contained by clean white fences. Prices can range between $300,000 and $400,000 for townhouses, and single-family homes often run from $400,000 to $650,000.

Nearby Hagerstown interstates and U.S. Routes
Sidewalks line almost every street in Hager's Crossing. “Out of all of our students, it seems like about half of them walk, and the other half drive to school each day," Meiron says. "It’s a healthy mix of both for most people in the area." U.S. Route 40, which runs along the neighborhood's southern end, takes residents southeast to downtown Hagerstown. That road intersects Interstate 81, which connects the community to the Hagerstown Regional Airport, less than 5 miles north, and the Valley Mall, 5 miles south. The Meritus Medical Center is less than 6 miles southeast. The Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is about 83 miles away.
