However, “BWI isn’t far from there and because it’s an international airport it is pretty busy,” Lawson says. “There are some neighborhoods that are close to those takeoff pads so it’s possible homeowners will experience noise.” Lawson recommends spending a day in the area, whether visiting shops or driving around, to gauge possible noise levels. Johns Hopkins Hospital is about 9 miles north via Interstate 95 and can take about 30 minutes to reach, depending on traffic.
