The town’s expansive pastoral landscape allows for attractions like Morgan Creek Vineyards and Old Baker Farm, two community highlights. Locals head to the town's center to dine

In the heart of Harpersville are a few locally owned restaurants for residents to enjoy. Coffee Shoppe is a small diner off Highway 280 featuring various breakfast and lunch items like steak and cheese subs, burgers, pancakes and egg sandwiches. HawgTide Bar-B-Q is a nearby food truck offering pulled pork sandwiches with various sides, like black beans, coleslaw and creamy corn. For dessert, the food truck features house-made banana pudding and wedding cookies. Fast food options include Burger King, Little Ceasars, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Jack’s. Students attend Shelby County Schools

Kids growing up in Harpersville only attend two schools within the Shelby County School District, which earned an overall A-minus on Niche. Most students start their education at Vincent Elementary School, which received an overall B-plus on Niche and has a student-to-teacher ratio of 17-to-1. Students progress to Vincent Middle High School for grades six through 12. Students can join various extracurricular options, like Drama Club, Future Farmers of America and Art Club. The school earned an overall B-minus on Niche.

A day along the Coosa

Locals head to Gorman Park to enjoy a day outside. Along the banks of the Coosa River, park-goers enjoy various water recreational activities like fishing, canoeing and motor boating. The park additionally features a paved boat launch and a fishing pier to make water activities more accessible to locals. Residents also enjoy the pavilion, picnic area and swing set. Local athletes head to Harpersville Municipal Park, where they’ll find a baseball field, tennis courts and a multi-use athletic field. Locals are 30 miles from Birmingham

Harpersville is a car-dependent community with no access to public transportation. Highway 280 passes through the heart of town and leads west toward Birmingham. Locals headed into the city have a 30-mile trip westbound on 280.
