Hidden Greens Golf Course offers 18 holes on its public greens in the middle of a wilderness refuge. In addition to a practice facility and driving range, it organizes adult and junior leagues.

State championships at Hastings High School
Students can begin school at Kennedy Elementary School, which has an A-minus from Niche, before heading to Hastings Middle School, which has a B. Older students will enroll at Hastings High School, which has an A-minus and has won dozens of state championships for their marching band and sports teams.
Hastings High School is home to the Hastings Raiders.
Hastings Middle School is home to grades 6 through 8.

Shopping and laid-back restaurants are in nearby Hastings
Ravenna is almost entirely homes and farms, so most shopping is done in Hastings, 7 miles northwest. Hastings Marketplace and Westview Center are adjacent shopping hubs, offering familiar stores and restaurants like Walmart Supercenter, Ace Hardware and Culver’s. The Busted Nut Bar and Grill offers classic tavern fare and free peanuts in a colorful atmosphere. Established in 2014, the Lock and Dam Eatery is a local institution that combines Mexican, Italian and Midwestern flavors just off the Mississippi River.
Many restaurants in downtown Hastings offer outdoor seating in the summer.

Live entertainment at Rivertown Days and the Antique Power Show
The Little Log House Antique Power Show has been held in a restored pioneer village since 1991. In addition to historical reenactments and demonstrations, visitors can attend a tractor pull, listen to live rock and polka bands or admire the blooms in the perennial garden. Rivertown Days turns downtown Hastings into a block party every July, featuring carnival rides, food tents and over 20 live bands.
No carnival would be complete without a merry-go-round at Rivertown Days in Hastings.
Hastings Rivertown Days also has classic fair food available like popcorn and caramel apples.

Straightforward routes to Hastings and the Twin Cities
The nearest highway is U.S. Route 61, which provides a direct route to Hastings. St. Paul and Minneapolis are 25 and 40 miles northwest, respectively. Public transit and sidewalks aren’t available, so locals rely on their cars for most transportation.

With the Mississippi River and Vermillion River Watershed taking up a third of the township, flooding has been an issue for residents. This includes flash floods in 2024 that left basements and outdoor trails flooded. Many homes may require flooding insurance.
