A neighborhood with Hattiesburg Zoo and Hardy Street

The Hattiesburg neighborhood, Kamper-Avenues, has earned the reputation of having a bit of a wild streak. Home to the Hattiesburg Zoo in Kamper Park, the destination hosts several animal species and a new waterpark. Beyond the public park are gridline streets with brick homes, some over a century old. "Kamper-Avenues has historical homes that were built many decades ago," says Keyshaun Spencer, a Hattiesburg resident and Realtor with Wells Realty LLC. "The homes have a lot of modernization and are very updated." The community is a part of the Avenues area, an entertainment and commercial district on Hardy Street.
