Haycock Township offers quiet living and diverse outdoor recreation
Established in 1763, Haycock Township is a small, rural community set in southeast Pennsylvania that's home to about 2,200 residents. The area comprises renovated vintage homes sitting on plenty of acreage, shielded by dense Pennsylvania woodland. While the township doesn't have sprawling shopping centers or a bustling downtown scene, it's abundant in outdoor recreation, home to Nockamixon State Park, Lake Towhee and over 2,000 acres of designated game lands. It's approximately 50 miles north of Pennsylvania, allowing residents to reach the city within about an hour, and just 9 miles from historic Quakertown.

Renovated classic homes line winding rural roads
Except for the occasional custom contemporary home, Haycock Township is not a place of new construction and neatly paved subdivisions. Instead, homes dot the winding roads that weave throughout the community, with thickets of forest and sprawling fields filling the scenery. The township's rural composition lends itself to privacy and, typically, generous acreage. The oldest renovated properties in the area, usually farmhouses and colonial styles, were built as early as the mid-to-late 19th century. Otherwise, midcentury ranch-style homes and Cape Cods are common. Most homes sell between $425,000 and $640,000, with the occasional outlier. The township's CAP Index Crime Score is 1 out of 10, well below the national average of 4.

The township's other main body of water, Lake Towhee, is situated at the heart of the community. Overall, the township encompasses approximately 2,000 acres of State Game Land, managed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, making hunting a popular pastime.

Beckers Corner, running out of a repurposed historic schoolhouse, has been serving traditional American fare and beer to the community for years. Nearby Ottsville has a couple of stores, including CVS and a Kimberton Whole Foods grocery store. Quakertown, about 9 miles away, offers big-box stores and national retailers.
