Planned community outside Helena

Mountain View Meadows, about 5 miles outside Helena, is one of the area’s few planned communities. “It’s a good little neighborhood,” says Maria Demaray, a broker with Big Sky Brokers, LLC, who’s sold homes in Helena. “The people who live there love it, and there are a lot of walking paths.” The neighborhood is well-placed for exploring Helena’s outdoor options, such as Mount Helena and the Missouri River. Shopping and dining are also convenient to the neighborhood since Mountain View Meadows is within 5 miles of Helena, East Helena, and Montana City, all of which have their own unique restaurants.

Large lots, manicured lawns and views of the mountain

Mountain View Meadows' streets are lined with bright green lawns, smooth concrete walkups and sidewalks on both sides. On the edges of the development, where the asphalt streets change into dusty roads left over from the community’s construction, the landscape stretches out for hundreds of miles in the distance, and the view ends along the mountainous horizon. Homes range from around 1,500 square feet to more than 3,500 square feet, and they often have private garages and fenced yards. “You get more for your money out there,” says Demaray. Craftsman bungalows, ranch-style homes, and houses that mix aesthetic elements of many architectural styles are popular. Plus, many houses share building materials and aesthetics, like beige siding and white trim. Home prices generally range between $300,000 and $700,000. There are also a few condos, which may list from $350,000 to $480,000. The area is prone to wildfires, and residents should have a plan in place in case they need to evacuate.
