Mountain View Meadows
Neighborhood in Helena, Montana
Lewis & Clark County 59601, 59635
Large lots, manicured lawns and views of the mountain
Mountain View Meadows' streets are lined with bright green lawns, smooth concrete walkups and sidewalks on both sides. On the edges of the development, where the asphalt streets change into dusty roads left over from the community’s construction, the landscape stretches out for hundreds of miles in the distance, and the view ends along the mountainous horizon. Homes range from around 1,500 square feet to more than 3,500 square feet, and they often have private garages and fenced yards. “You get more for your money out there,” says Demaray. Craftsman bungalows, ranch-style homes, and houses that mix aesthetic elements of many architectural styles are popular. Plus, many houses share building materials and aesthetics, like beige siding and white trim. Home prices generally range between $300,000 and $700,000. There are also a few condos, which may list from $350,000 to $480,000. The area is prone to wildfires, and residents should have a plan in place in case they need to evacuate.Parks close to home and mountains within a few miles
Mountain View Park, the neighborhood’s only park, has volleyball, tennis and basketball courts. Dogs are also welcome at the park, which has a series of walking paths that wind through the green fields around the sports courts. Outside of the neighborhood, hikers and mountain bikers head to the trails around Mount Ascension and Mount Helena 6 miles to the west, and people interested in fishing or camping head to Canyon Ferry Lake (part of the Missouri River), about 15 miles to the east.East Helena Public Schools
Students can go to Prickly Pear Elementary School for first and second grade before attending R.H. Radley Elementary School, which has a B rating on Niche. East Valley Middle School has a C-plus. East Helena High School has a C rating and a variety of after-school activities like Dungeons & Dragons, Key and French clubs.Live music and cowboys
About 8 miles from Mountain View Meadows, Lewis and Clark Fairgrounds is the Helena hub for music, rodeo and other events. Other seasonal events like September’s Fall Fest provide activities for people all over Helena year-round.Getting around Mountain View Meadows
Montanans are prepared to drive just about anywhere in the state, whether it’s the Bob Marshall Wilderness Park 300 miles from Mountain View Meadows or 6 miles to Last Chance Gulch. Highway 287 borders the top half of the neighborhood, going east to west, and Interstate 15 is about 5 miles away. The Helena Regional Airport is about 6 miles away, and St. Peter’s Hospital is 5 miles from the neighborhood.Three towns’ worth of restaurants
Mountain View Meadows is between Helena and East Helena, and about 5 miles from Montana City. All three areas have different restaurant offerings, and Mountain View Meadows itself doesn’t have restaurants, so residents drive to these areas to eat and shop. Last Chance Gulch is Helena’s premiere shopping and dining district. It’s home to Helena favorites like On Broadway and shops like Great Divide Cyclery, popular with mountain bikers. East Helena has a few restaurants, such as Smith’s Place and the Missouri River Brewing Company. Montana City is popular all over the Helena region, and people drive in to eat breakfast at the Hardware Café. For groceries, a Walmart Supercenter is 3 miles west.
