Living in Southfork puts a variety of entertainment and dining options at residents’ fingertips. Mothership Coffee or Scrambled, in the northern part of the community, provide quick breakfast options on the go. Padrino’s Gourmet Latin Cuisine, next door to Scrambled along State Route 146, offers hearty paella dishes, ceviche and eclectic Spanish tapas. In the southern part of Southfork at Born and Raised, residents cheer on their favorite sports team while enjoying a pint, bulgogi steak tacos and a double-stuffed Oreo zeppole. Smith’s and Trader Joe’s are conveniently located along South Eastern Avenue, and Silverado Ranch Plaza is west of Southfork, where residents will find PetSmart, Target, Michael’s and HomeGoods.The District at Green Valley Ranch is 2 miles north. The walkable, cobblestone plaza is a large, airy, upscale shopping and dining destination. The high-end steakhouse Echo & Rig is a local favorite for date night, Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que serves up comfort Southern fare and The Local, a cozy wine bar, is a go-to spot for fancy snacks and wine in old light canisters from the iconic Bellagio Fountain. “You can go there for brunch on weekends, sit outside and drink wine or listen to music at night,” says Amelia Keene, Realtor for the Keene Team Las Vegas and Green Valley resident since 1997. “You’ve really got so many options.” The plaza also offers a Whole Foods Market. Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino is also nearby for those who want the classic Vegas experience without the tourist crowds along the Strip. Residents can head south into Seven Hills to practice their swing at Rio Secco Golf Club or catch the Las Vegas Raiders practice at the Intermountain Health Performance Center. Eight miles east of Southfork is Downtown Henderson, known as the Water Street District, where even more trendy restaurants, entertainment, shopping and celebrations await.
Southwestern-style homes close to schools, parks and restaurants

Three-bedroom single-family homes range from $420,000 to $600,000. Larger five- and six-bedroom homes can ask between $660,000 and $900,000. Homes in this master-planned community often come with large pools, multi-car garages and driveways large enough for RVs or other toys. Desert-landscaped lots can span up to a quarter acre and feature covered decks and scenic mountain views. The 7-acre Cactus Wren Park offers an activity for everyone, from basketball courts to a 5,000-square-foot skate park, playground, dog park and multi-purpose fields. The park also allows hikers to access both the quaint Siena Heights Trail or the Amargosa Trail, a 10-mile paved and unpaved trail that stretches to Cactus Wren Park, the expansive Henderson Multigenerational Center, Paseo Verde Park across much of the rest of Henderson before approaching the base of the McCullough Mountain range. Avid hikers and mountain bikers can continue this trail for about 3 miles before climbing the mountain. Henderson Multigenerational Center, one of the largest facilities in Nevada, offers a variety of activities, including aerobics, a fitness center, a dance room, an art gallery, a rock-climbing wall and indoor and outdoor pools.Southfork schools make the grade
Clark County Public Schools serve the area, and local students attend Glen C. Taylor Elementary, followed by Bob Miller Middle in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood and then Coronado High School in Seven Hills. The elementary and middle schools hold a B-plus grade on Niche, and Taylor offers robotics and archery clubs.Earning an A-minus grade on Niche, Coronado is ranked the 20th-best public high school in Nevada, and its renowned marching band has performed at national events, including the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C.
Easy access to events and celebrations
Just as a variety of diverse dining and shopping options surround Southfork, so do events and celebrations. Most are held in The District at Green Valley Ranch and Downtown Henderson. One of the most popular is the Art Festival of Henderson, held every year in May at the Water Street Plaza, which offers a juried artist showcase, a chalk art show and vendors. In The District, residents can attend concerts or yoga in the central courtyard, farmers’ markets and movies.Central to it all
State Route 146 (St. Rose Parkway) runs through Southfork, connecting to Interstate 215, which provides access to the rest of the region. The Vegas Strip is an 11-mile drive from Southfork, and Harry Reid International Airport is 7 miles away. RTC of Southern Nevada provides public transportation, with buses running South Eastern Avenue, the community’s southwestern edge.
