In Hollywood Park, nature is the star of the show. Deer are held especially dear here, from the depiction of a buck in the town emblem to their frequent presence in Hollywood Park’s spacious lawns. “A lot of houses don't even have fences. Everything is wide open,” says Terri Saari, owner and broker at Kristalli Real Estate, LLC. “The deer run wild. People love to see deer roaming around the neighborhood. A lot of people even feed them.” The deer are far from the only ones who love calling Hollywood Park home. Thanks to its location at the edge of Texas Hill Country, Hollywood Park beckons to many.

Texas-sized spaces to live

Hollywood Park’s lots are no exception to the notion that everything’s bigger in Texas. “People are looking from a half-acre to a full acre,” Saari says. “They like the space between the houses because there's a lot more land. Your neighbor is not right on top of you.” Hollywood Park broke off from San Antonio and incorporated on its own in 1955, so houses from that era are common as well as much newer homes. Saari says the majority of the older homes have been renovated or added on to. Ranch, split-level, French Country, Contemporary, Mediterranean and Farmhouse styles are all found here. The median price of a Hollywood Park home is $524,562, with houses ranging from around $400,000 to just over $1 million.

Hollywood Park is true to its name

In many ways, Hollywood Park is a park in itself. “The whole place fits its name,” Saari says. “It's very much like a park.” But there are parks within that setting. Voigt Park features basketball and tennis courts as well as a pool, and the Voigt Center can be rented for banquets or weddings. Memorial Park is a greenspace with a playground. And quality golf isn’t far, with the private Club at Sonterra extending into the neighborhood.

Where convenience and nature mix

The din of civilization isn’t far from this bucolic setting. There are multiple shopping centers in neighboring Thousand Oaks, Encino Park, Stone Oak, Rogers Ranch and Hidden Forest. With that comes a multitude of dining options. “You name it, within a mile there’s everything from chain restaurants to some of the most high-end, expensive restaurants,” Saari said. Local favorites include El Mirasol Mexican restaurant, Purple Garlic Italian Café, and Willie’s Grill & Icehouse among many others.

A flight is a quick drive away

It’s easy to get from Hollywood Park to anywhere in the San Antonio area and beyond thanks to U.S. Highway 281 and Loop 1604, which border the neighborhood. San Antonio International Airport is just 7 miles away. The Alamo and downtown San Antonio are roughly 14 miles from Hollywood Park.

From Fiesta to much smaller events

The Alley on Bitters, a Hill Country Village shopping center originally founded as a spot for Texas artists to showcase their work, still maintains that spirit with a variety of family-friendly events each month. Like much of the greater San Antonio area, Hollywood Park also has events associated with the city’s Fiesta festival each April. There are also neighborhood-specific events for residents to enjoy year-round.
