Gulf Coast Acres, in Pasco County, is located near the southern end of Florida's Nature Coast. The region is known for its undeveloped waterfront and ample recreational opportunities. "People will move or retire here because they like to be close to the water. It's right along U.S. 19, where you have businesses and chain restaurants," says Yadira Hector, an experienced Tampa Bay Realtor with HomeTrust Realty Group. "There are several ramps to boat and fish. The one on Hudson Beach goes straight to the gulf." Nearby marinas provide wet and dry boat storage as well as rentals. The area also contains industrial facilities, including manufacturers and a water treatment plant.

There's a dedicated swimming area and a water obstacle course with large inflatables. The Aripeka Sandhills Preserve is 5 miles from the neighborhood. The wetland conservation area has 2 miles of hiking paths winding through hardwood swamplands. Locals suggest that visitors download the trail map before venturing on the path. Hudson Beach, officially known as Robert J. Strickland Memorial Park, offers 6 miles of accessible coastline for swimming and shoreline fishing. There is also a launch for kayaks and motorboats. Hector says locals drive 12 miles to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. "People can kayak from there to reach the gulf; they also have a little water park called Buccaneer Bay," Hector says.
