Good Home Hunting
Huntington Woods earned the nickname “The City of Homes” because it mainly consists of residential areas and lacks a commercial district. As Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices agent Paula Rait, a realtor with 43 years of experience, says, there are many endearing qualities to this city. They prove that immediate access to shopping isn't crucial to make a place home. "There's a real sense of community in Huntington Woods. You can see it through its strong police and fire department presence. You can see it through its concerts in Scotia Park in the summertime, and the Fourth of July celebrations." With its grand English-inspired estates and over 20 community organizations and clubs to get acquainted with, downtown districts don't quite compare to the communal bliss of Huntington Woods.
Artistic architecture in Huntington Woods
The city's opulent homes reflect the luxurious aesthetics of the mid-20th century and were crafted by some of Detroit’s notable architects, including Frank Lloyd Wright and Albert Kahn, whose indelible mark on Detroit is both pragmatic and inspirational. The Hill Historic District is adorned with homes built with sheer elegance in mind. The streets' curved avenues and corner parks create an inviting atmosphere throughout. Homes are characterized by early Renaissance architecture featuring arched entryways and steepled roofs. Spacious backyards offer plenty of room for outdoor play and entertaining. Houses mainly consist of single-family homes with an occasional duplex thrown into the mix. Homes here cost about $270,000 at the lower end and $450,000 at the higher end.
