New development along W.V. Route 75
Shoals offers a range of residences and price points for those moving to the area. "It's a real mix out there, from rural properties to homes built in recent years,” says Preston Cole, a resident and Realtor who co-owns Property Professionals Inc. along with his wife, Debbie. “That whole stretch of 75 has a lot of new development, and lot sizes are bigger, too, so you could get anything from a half to three acres." Some of the oldest homes in Shoals were built in the 1950s, though a wealth of manufactured properties and large, traditional homes can be found from more recent decades. Ranch-style houses and contemporary homes are the predominant styles. Most newly developed properties in the area boast brick facades and large lots surrounded by wooded areas. There are also a few sections of manufactured homes, including the Birchwood Mobile Home Park. Manufactured homes and some older properties range from $50,000 to $150,000, while larger, contemporary homes can go for $300,000 to $600,000.
