Younger students in the district can attend any elementary or middle school in their enrollment zone. Robert Lee Frost School 106 is a nearby elementary option. There is no zoning for high schools, so older students can attend any school in the district. Nearby private options include the highly rated Cathedral High School.
Residents typically take Emerson Avenue south to Interstate 70 to get downtown. The commute takes around 15 minutes. The 38th Street revitalization includes upgraded streetscapes to improve the experience of using IndyGo’s Purple Line, which connects commuters to downtown. Residents can also take the Purple Line to nearby Fort Harrison State Park. Interstate 70 provides access to Indianapolis International Airport, a little over 20 miles away.
Gardner Park is the neighborhood’s main recreational destination. Amenities include a walking path and courts for basketball and pickleball. Doris Cowherd Park offers green space and playground equipment. Fort Harrison State Park is a regional attraction within 5 miles. Featured amenities spread across 1,700 acres include trails that make the park a popular destination for walkers, runners and bike riders, two fishing lakes, a golf course and a dog park.
