Nature and city collide on the outskirts of Indy
Traders Point is a northwest Indianapolis neighborhood offering a balance of nature and access to urban amenities. To the south of the neighborhood is Eagle Creek Park, one of the biggest city parks in the country, offering thrills and relaxation, from ziplining to fishing on the calm waters of the Eagle Creek Reservoir. To the east is the Traders Point shopping center, home to a movie theater, restaurants and modern shopping options. Homebuyers are drawn to spacious homes and quiet streets, thanks to separation from downtown Indianapolis. Yet for work or play, the city center is about 15 miles south, with direct access from a bordering interstate. “Traders Point is off the beaten path, with easy access to Indianapolis,” says Susan Forrest, Realtor with United Real Estate Indianapolis.

Midcentury ranches and custom builds
Traders Point has a sprawling layout divided into several subdivions. Here, single-family homes sit on quiet street with lots of tree cover. Architecture includes ranch-style properties from the '50s and '60s and custom homes from the '90s and '00s. These often have a Tudor-inspired look with brick and steep roof gables. Single-family homes average around 3,300 square feet, with large plots of land to match, including backyards with decks for entertaining. Front yards are large and well kept, with enough room for a decorative gardenscape. "A lot of people shop based on the school district, but if I have empty nesters, I'll push them over into north Marion County because there are a lot of nice, older custom homes," says Jerry Hanna, a Broker with Highgarden Real Estate. Below 5,000 square feet, homes can range between $300,000 and $715,000. Some of the neighborhood's largest homes can range between $900,000 and $1.2 million. There are also condo developments on the neighborhood's north and south sides, with properties ranging from $160,000 to $230,000.
Prices start at $200,000 for homes in the wonderful Traders Point neighborhood.
