The Sciencenter is a nationally recognized museum in the neighborhood that helps kids and adults explore the world around them. The ¾-mile Carl Sagan Planet Walk begins at Ithaca Commons and follows Cascadilla Creek to the Sciencenter. At stops along the way, walkers learn about the planets in our solar system. A few blocks down Cascadilla Street, the Cascadilla Gorge Trail offers a ¾-mile path that leads to Cornell University. Along the walk, hikers pass eight waterfalls, ranging in size from eight to 80 feet. Conway Park is a small, triangular-shaped park in North Side with a fenced-in playground area and a large, open field. Just across Highway 13, Ithaca Community Gardens offers plots of land for beginning gardeners and experienced growers who enjoy working the earth. Built on the shores of Cayuga Lake, the public course offers 9 challenging holes set amid captivating views of the lake and surrounding hills.Blocks away from retail and restaurants
