A community surrounded by water, retail and green spaces
Along the marshy banks of Mill Cove in Jacksonville rests Gilmore-Beacon Hills, a suburban community that was once a fishing village. Here, pockets of woodlands wrap around the residential spaces framed by the water to the north. "The area attracts people who enjoy the outdoors. There are many parks, and water sports are popular here. It's a big boating community," says Noble Home Buyer LLC, President John Mckinley. The neighborhood is predominantly residential, but being part of the Arlington region, it offers access to retail and the city center.
Many residents of the Gilmore-Beacon Hills neighborhood own boats.

This part of Jacksonville is brimming with outdoor activities
Cupping Mill Cove and the St. Johns River, Gilmore-Beacon Hills is a haven for boating. Fulton Landing Boat Ramp offers easy access to Mill Cove, home to sea trout, redfish and fertile oyster beds. Sometimes bottlenose dolphins are seen surfacing on the river. According to locals, high tide is the best time for canoe launches. Those looking to explore on land should venture past the southern tip of Gilmore-Beacon Hills to visit Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens. The 120-acre green space hosts a collection of plants and trails covered by a tree canopy. The space is so immersive that it is easy to forget the suburban landscape that surrounds the gardens.
Pets are welcome without leashes inside Ed Austin Dog Park, just outside the community. History buffs will enjoy the Fort Caroline National Memorial's onsite museum and historical exhibits like the reconstructed French fort. Others admire the pine flatwoods and brackish marshes along the trail and boardwalk. The green space also offers guided tours through the park ranger program.
The Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens is a nice place to enjoy a picnic.
