Walnut Grove
New state-of-the-art Grove Park on the way
Currently Walnut Grove City Park is the only true green space in town. The park has two playground for both younger and older children and a rentable ball field and pavilion. Walton County broke ground on a brand new park that will be located on Highway 81 in Walnut Grove. Once complete, the park will have a softball field among other sports fields and courts, a splash pad and amphitheater. "People are really excited about the new park, because it is going to make the place more desirable," says Ale Clayton, a real estate agent with Reliant Homes, which donated the land to the county for the park. Parts of the Cornish Creek Reservoir, which provides clean drinking water to the surrounding counties, make up the southern edge of the town. Lake Varner Park provides two boating access, and is frequented for fishing and views of the water.Homes on multiple acres of land

Small subdivisions built in the last 30 years feature sidewalks and contemporary homes that can come on 2.5 acres of land. Most properties sell from around $440,000 to $750,000. “The market has slowed down over the last two years but remains steady. Properties priced correctly sell,” Myers says.
